Inside Sales Representative

Job Purpose

Selling products and services using solid knowledge and persuasive arguments to prospective and existing customers. Maintaining positive business relationships to ensure future sales. Position is eligible for Regional Sales Manager positions once a track record of success within the company has been established. Training will be up to 18 months and will consist of specific training in Product Lines, Customer Service, Purchasing Processes, Shipping Processes, Service and Parts, and the Sales Process.

Essential Functions

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • 1. Acts with honesty and integrity
  • 2. Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
  • 3. Educate customers in all aspects of meat processing and product manufacturing
  • 4. Identify and troubleshoot solutions to manufacturing defects and needs for customer products
  • 5. Utilize in-house test kitchen facilities to demonstrate and train customers and employees on equipment and product use
  • 6. Keep current with best practices and industry trends
  • 7. Attend industry trade shows, conventions, and further education seminars
  • 8. Know equipment, functions/applications and how to operate to assess and sell the equipment best suited for customer needs
  • 9. Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • 10. Develop new customers through cold calling
  • 11. Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints
  • 12. Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • 13. Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
  • 14. Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports
  • 15. Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • 16. Continuously improve through feedback
