Sausage Stuffers

Walton's has 5 manual sausage stuffers, 4 dual speed stuffers in 7, 11, 26, and 33 lb sizes and 1 single speed stuffer that holds about 7 lb of product. Which stuffer is the most commonly used and which do we recommend? What are some of the advantages of the Walton's Sausage Stuffers and what is going on with our Electric Stuffers?

For smaller batch home processors, we would recommend either the Walton’s 7 or 11 lb Dual Speed Stuffer.  These are ideal for home users who maker smaller batches because they have smaller diameter pistons.  The less surface area a piston covers, the easier they are to crank as they will create less pressure.  Other factors play into the amount of pressure that builds up, like amount of water used, type of protein and how the meat was handled, but size of piston is a major factor in this.  We recommend the dual speed stuffers over the single speed as the dual speeds have internal gears that are made of a higher quality material, where the single speed works on a vertical screw and umbrella gear, making it harder to stuff and much slower to back out for reloading.

Between the 7 and 11 lb dual speed we generally recommend the Walton’s 11 lb stuffer as the increased capacity means less time reloading and this is our best selling sausage stuffer for the retail market.

For home processors who make large batches, such as 50 lb batches the Walton’s 26 and 33 lb stuffers are good choices.  Having the ability to load a full batch in a single cannister means you will spend more time stuffing and less reloading.

What are some advantages of the Walton’s Sausage Stuffers over other similar brands?  First all of our stuffers, even the single speed version come with all stainless steel stuffing tubes.  Plastic stuffing tubes develop burs over time which will nick the casing and make the casing more likely to split.

All Walton’s Dual Speed stuffers have a set of suction cup feet included (limited time offer) that allow you to replace the rubber feet and when used on a smooth surface prevents the sausage stuffer from rocking while stuffing.  This is especially useful when you are stuffing sausage by yourself.  If you are stuffing by yourself and do not use suction cup feet them you will want to clamp your stuffer to the table you are using to prevent the rocking.

Walton’s is a small family-owned company that takes customer service and support seriously.  When you call us you are speaking to someone who has used these products in the making of sausage, not just some worker who has a job answering a phone.  Walton’s offers help on our sausage stuffers through our customer service department at cs@waltons.com or 800-835-2832 and through Meatgistics.com.  Meatgistics is a community that has over 20,000 registered users who help each other with processing and equipment questions and issues.

Walton’s recently released 2 Electric powered sausage stuffers, a 20 and a 30 lb model.  The wait was long due to the fact that we insisted it be able to stuff snack sticks.  We made changes to the motors, the cannister, base and stuffing tubes to make this possible.  Currently the 30 lb model is out of stock and will remain that way for some time, as we have once again redesigned the motor in an effort to give it more power when stuffing smaller diameter snack sticks. The 20 lb is currently available however and the 30 lb model should be back in stock before 2023 hunting season!
